History:
While taking a break from filming a horror movie, Dan Cassidy, playing the part of the Blue Devil in a gadgeted-up suit of his own design (may have actually been the stuntman, not the real actor) and the lead actress accidentally unleash the demon Nebiros. During the ensuing battle, Cassidy is hit by a blast of mystical energy which permanently bonds most of the Blue Devil costume to his body (he can take off the `clothing' parts). - Fury of Firestorm #24\Blue Devil #1
Blue Devil is taken to the Justice League headquarters by Superman, and is introduced to Zatanna. Zatanna offers to help Daniel. Dan and Zatanna end up confronting Nebiros, who doesn't understand, believing Dan Cassidy to be a true demon and even referring to him as `brother'. - Blue Devil #4
As part of La Fraternite de Justice et Liberete, Blue Devil was baited into a trap by the Mist. The Mist detroyed the team, using holy water to flay Daniel to the bones and then blowing him up (Starman 38, January 199
